Michael Martin Murphey's WESTFEST® 2010 is officially set to be held in Rifle, Colorado, August 12-15, 2010. This western celebration will be located at the Garfield County Fairgrounds in Rifle, Colorado. The Garfield County fair dates are August 4-7, 2010. |
Michael's goal with WESTFEST® is to present the West to people who would otherwise perceive it only through a movie director's tunnel vision. The West has become synomymous with fantasy. If Hollywood trends are any indication, the movie screens are alive with politically correct Indians and environmentally-challenged villians.

Bringing the West Alive at Westfest
"As we get more and more alienated sitting and staring at a screen all day, we need more and more contact with people," Murphey points out. 'We all still desire to gather around and listen to a story by a campfire". Michael dares to bring the West alive to present the cultural excitement of the New West combined with the historic flavor of the Old West.
